Having read a lot of news from the Hindustan Times, I can say that they do offer a range of reports and articles that are both informative and interesting. They also have a quick-reads feature on their website, which is a handy feature to have.

‘Quick Reads’ feature

‘Quick Reads’ feature of Hindustan Times is a research-based fluency program that helps students read and comprehend texts. It consists of six levels. Each level contains three books. These texts follow national standards in Science, Social Studies, and Visual Arts.

Each book contains thirty text passages. During each teaching session, the student should focus on different passages. The program monitors their progress and provides suggestions to improve their reading skills. This strategy is effective for all students in the 2nd through 5th grade.

QuickReads uses the TExT Model of Reading to help students develop oral and reading fluency. This model teaches students to increase their vocabulary, improve comprehension, and learn critical subject matter knowledge. It also encourages automaticity with high-frequency words. This strategy is especially helpful for struggling readers.

QReads also includes features to support research and notetaking. It is ideal for students who are unable to access grade-level content.

‘Rebranding’

Having a circulation of 993,645 copies in November 2017, it is the second most read English newspaper in India after The Times of India. It also has the distinction of being the second highest circulated newspaper in Maharashtra. The newspaper is owned by KK Birla’s subsidiary HT Media.

The rebranding of Hindustan Times has taken place to address the news consumption habits of a new generation. Aside from the print edition, the newspaper has launched digital first versions in the city of Mumbai and Delhi. These digital versions include a multi-platform sharable format and QR codes, which link to digital platforms.

The ‘Hindustan’s’ newest product is a video that narrates a powerful monologue about television news. The ‘Hindustan’s’ other newest offering is the pramukh paanch, a mini-magazine for the millennial generation. The paanch is designed to keep its readers engaged.

Aside from a re-design, the news paper also launched a new masthead. The logo has been redrawn by Tobias Frere Jones. The crest highlights the ‘Hindustan’s’ presence on mobile devices.

‘Reports’

HT Media is a subsidiary of The Hindustan Times Limited. Its newspaper is the second-most widely read English newspaper in India after The Times of India. It also has a monthly literary magazine, a children’s magazine, and a radio station. As of September 2016, HT Media is valued at Rs 834 crore. Its stock has risen more than 25 percent in the past three months.

The Hindustan Times is owned by the KK Birla group. The group owns a 69 percent stake in HT Media. The company’s chief executive is Shobhana Bhartia, a granddaughter of Ghanshyam Das Birla. She has been a member of the Rajya Sabha, and was the first female chief executive of a national newspaper. She has been nominated as a Rajya Sabha MP for the Congress Party.

The Hindustan Times is one of the most popular newspapers in North India. It is the second-most widely circulated English newspaper in India, and has simultaneous editions from Mumbai and New Delhi. It is popular in Chandigarh and Ranchi, and has a large following in Lucknow.
